Lee Jaffe - Jean-Michel Basquiat

Having had the ability to capture one of the art world’s true greats, a series of Lee Jaffe photographs reveal an intimate look into the process of the legendary Jean-Michel Basquiat. The ability to photograph somebody of Basquiat’s prowess offers newcomers an in-depth link to an important figurehead in the world of pop art.

Unfortunate news today from Rio de Janiero: beloved outsider artist Jorge Selarón, who adorned a set of 250 stairs in the central Lapa neighborhood with bright tiles over the course of 20 years was found dead on his stairs.

I met Selarón when I was shooting in Rio in October and November for Airbnb.  He was a character — holding court while painting out on the steps, BSing with anyone who engaged him, sticking his tongue out in photos his admirers snapped. The stairs are a Rio landmark, and Selaron a treasure, and he will me missed.  

What a monument to life and passion and commitment, to leave behind, though.

Como primicia mundial quiero contaros que el director creativo de la firma de lujo LOEWE, Stuart Vevers presentará hoy, en la Semana de Moda Hombre en París 2013, la colección otoño/invierno 2014 inspirada en el cineasta español LUIS BUÑUEL. Toma de él la actitud orgullosa, noble y muy masculina. Loewe nos presentará piezas masculinas en piel, poniendo énfasis en la piel de oveja como referente para el próximo invierno.

Otro elemento destacado de la colección es el bolso “Lorca”, inspirado en el poeta español, de formas relajadas y texturas de piel suave.

La paleta de colores en la que basa la colección será el caoba terroso, escala de marrones y el negro. Destacando los azules y el rojo apasionado muy vinculado a la cultura española.

Los parisinos volverán a quedarse de piedra ante la genialidad de Stuart Vevers y su visión de “lo español” como nuevo emblema del lujo.
